We’re Becoming digitalLIFT!

digitalLIFT

We’re excited to announce that as of April 21, Community Tech Network will be known as digitalLIFT. Why the change? We found that “Community Network” sometimes made folks think we provided internet service, and “Tech” made us sound a little too high-tech. Our new name, digitalLIFT, better reflects what we really do—lifting communities through digital literacy. It’s shorter, clearer, and a better fit for where we’re headed. Same mission, new name!

Free Internet Safety

Cybersecurity is no longer optional—Americans lost over $12.5 billion to internet scams in 2023 (FBI IC3). In response, we’ve made our Internet Safety Curriculum and Teaching Internet Safety & Responsibility online course completely free. These resources are designed for digital literacy instructors and learners alike, covering everyday internet risks and providing practical tools to stay safe. Help your learners build the skills they need to be safe, smart digital citizens.

Partner Spotlight: City of Fairfield Adult Recreation Center—At digitalLIFT, strong community partnerships are at the heart of our mission to bridge the digital divide. We are proud to partner with the City of Fairfield Adult Recreation Center, a welcoming community hub that has played an essential role in helping older adults gain access to technology and digital skills training. The success of these classes would not be possible without the dedication and support of the Adult Recreation Center staff. The team consistently ensures that classrooms are prepared and ready for instruction, provides IT support when needed, and creates a positive learning environment where participants feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new technology. The City of Fairfield Adult Recreation Center is deeply committed to serving its community, and that commitment is reflected in the tremendous interest in these classes. Due to high demand, classes often fill one to two months in advance. To meet the growing need, we expanded our partnership this year to offer monthly classes, providing even more opportunities for residents to participate.Read full article: digitallift.org/partner-spotlight-city-of-fairfield-adult-recreation-center/#cityoffairfield #digitalskillstraining #digitallift ...
