Stepping Into Someone Else’s Shoes: CTN’s April Webinar Sheds Light on the Digital Divide

At Community Tech Network (CTN), we’re always exploring new ways to raise awareness about the real-world impact of digital exclusion. This month, we’re excited to bring you a powerful and immersive experience that does just that.

Life on the Edge of Connectivity: A Digital Divide Simulation

Date: April 24, 2025
Time: 11 a.m. PT
Register for the April Webinar Here

What You’ll Experience:
This unique webinar, presented by KC Digital Drive, is more than a discussion—it’s a simulation that puts participants in the shoes of someone navigating daily life without reliable access to technology. You’ll witness realistic challenges and obstacles, similar to what many people experience every day when they don’t have internet, devices, or digital skills.

From trying to access job applications without a computer to missing out on important medical information because of connectivity issues, this simulation walks you through the deep and often invisible barriers people face in a digital-first world.

Why You Should Attend:

  • Walk a Mile in Their Shoes: Experience firsthand what it’s like to live on the edge of connectivity.
  • Build Empathy: Gain a deeper understanding of how digital exclusion affects real people in your community.
Inspire Change: Leave with ideas, motivation, and a clearer vision for how you can help bridge the digital divide—whether in Kansas City or your own community.
  • Enter for a chance to win a free enrollment in our Digital Navigators: Advanced online course (must be present to win)!

About KC Digital Drive:
KC Digital Drive is a leading organization working to close the digital divide in the Kansas City region and beyond. Their innovative programming, including this simulation, helps drive action through education, community partnerships, and advocacy. CTN is proud to partner with them to bring this impactful event to a wider audience.

Who Should Attend:
This session is ideal for anyone who cares about digital equity—whether you’re a community leader, nonprofit professional, educator, policy maker, or simply someone who wants to make a difference. All are welcome!
