Jessica Pasquarello, Community Tech Network’s communications and marketing associate, comes to the organization with extensive experience as both a writer and an activist.
Jessica is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she received an M.A. in political science and international affairs along with B.A.s in economics and international affairs.
Prior to joining CTN, Jessica studied economic development as an exchange student in Ecuador, published research on migration as a visiting research fellow in Sweden, and learned about law during a summer at Oxford University. Additionally, she was a freelance writer for publications such as the Philadelphia Inquirer and also spent several years fighting for change at the political level, as she worked for various politicians and policy institutes.
Most recently, Jessica was awarded the Princeton in Latin America Fellowship and worked for two years as a communications officer with a women’s rights nonprofit in Guatemala.
“Growing up in inner-city South Philadelphia, I was exposed to extreme poverty. My goal is to travel the world and learn other languages and about other cultures before eventually returning to Philly and running for political office,” says Jessica. “I’m proud to be an activist and to fight for equity.”
Jessica was excited to begin working with CTN, as she believes that digital equity is a crucial component of social change. She says, “In today’s society, almost everything has become digital, and internet access is directly tied to numerous key outcomes, such as those related to health and employment. Without digital access and literacy, many individuals, particularly those in already marginalized communities, are being left behind.”
“Working with CTN has been a fantastic experience, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to champion digital equity,” Jessica says.
